The Tahoe/Truckee area needs some sort of way for every local with a computer to communicate with each other. It would be nice to have a free online community social networking site.
To get a sense of what I am talking about, I encourage you to visit www.neighborsforneighbors.org - review it and read the "about" drop down.
This site would be dedicated to developing community by developing a way for local neighbors who don't know each other to communicate about local issues, offer services, volunteer, talk in real time with neighbors you don't know, regarding issues which are important to those of us who live in the Truckee/Tahoe area. I'd even like to look for a way to include a community currency into the mix to help invigorate the local economy.
Unfortunately my computer skill sets are meager at best, and I am looking for some people who would like to discuss and possibly sit down to create such a site for our local area. It would be free for anyone to use, and I think it would help everyone in the community become better "connected" with each other.
