Placer supes take action on Kings Beach three-lane project

KINGS BEACH, Calif. - In other action last Tuesday, the Placer County Board of Supervisors approved two easements regarding the Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project, according to a press release - the first is a permanent acquisition needed for construction of a roundabout on Highway 28; the second is a temporary construction easement.

The board also set a hearing for Jan. 22, 2013, at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach - during the board's regularly scheduled meeting - regarding a proposed Benefit Assessment District which, if approved, would collect assessments from property owners within the project's boundaries to pay an estimated $166,000 annual fee associated with the upkeep of streetscape aesthetics.

According to previous reports, the 294 parcel owners would be assessed based on zoning of their property, the property's state of development and whether it fronts the streetscape improvements, meaning properties will have different assessments.

Assessment ballots should be delivered to all property owners in early December, according to the county. Following the Jan. 22 public hearing, ballots returned by property owners will be tabulated to determine whether a majority exists to form the district.
