TRUCKEE, Calif. - A public workshop to present the draft Martis Valley Groundwater Management Plan is set for Thursday, Nov. 29, at Truckee Donner Public Utility District's board room, 11570 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, from 5-7 p.m.
According to a press release, development of the plan began in summer 2011, and the draft report has recently been completed. Groundwater sustainability, overdraft protection, groundwater recharge rates and understanding the impacts of climate change are among the goals of the project, undertaken by a partnership of TDPUD, Northstar Community Services District and Placer County Water Agency.
Public participation is encouraged at Thursday's meeting. According to the press release, the next steps include formal adoption of the plan by each partner agency.
