South Shore volleyball awarded for strong season

The Vikings and Warriors staked their spot among the best.

Both South Tahoe and Whittell high school volleyball players were nominated to All-League for their standout season performances. South Tahoe took seven spots on the Division I-A All-League roster. Whittell took six spots among Division III All-League nominees, including best in league.

Top honors went to Whittell's Amanda Harris, who was named Division III MVP.

Sister and middle blocker, Emily Harris, snagged a spot not far behind on first team along with setter Colette Craig and defensive specialist Katie Besson. The four seniors played volleyball together since middle school.

For South Tahoe, middle blocker Drew Norberg and outside hitter Morgan Kaufer both claimed spots on first team All-League. The two were instrumental in leading the Vikings to a state championship title this year. They were both named to All-State last week.

South Tahoe's defense specialist Bailey David, outside hitter Kaila Griffis and setter Raquel Marchesseault were also a big part of that state championship win, and all three were named to Division I-A second team.

Whittell's Zoe Bertz captured second team outside hitter among Division III players.

South Tahoe's Hannah Neiger and Kendhyl Delacour earned Division I-A honorable mentions. Whittell's Tori Jimenz picked up Division III honorable mention.
