Museum to host holiday gala

The Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center will host its holiday gala on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The museum will be filled with gingerbread houses, decorated Christmas trees and the scent of cookies. The Gallery of Trees, part of the museum's annual fundraising activities, features trees decorated by service groups, clubs and people from the area. The Gingerbread House Decorating Contest will also be held for the eighth year.

The gala will kick off with a cookie walk and pictures with Santa, and will conclude with an open house before the Parade of Lights.

The holiday gala will begin at 10 a.m. at the museum, located at 1477 U.S. Highway 395 North in Gardnerville. For more information, visit
