Due to California's budget crisis and subsequent budget cuts to the trial courts, the El Dorado Superior Court will implement limited operation days on Dec. 24, 26, 27, 28 and 31. Limited operations will also be in effect Jan. 2, 3 and 4 to further reduce the court's operating budget, according to a statement from the court.
On the limited operation days, all clerks' offices and all but two courtrooms will be closed. One courtroom will remain open in South Lake Tahoe and one will remain open in Placerville. A judge will be available in each courtroom to conduct arraignments and examinations, to handle time-sensitive juvenile matters and to sign any necessary documents on an emergency basis, as required by law.
Document drop boxes will be available at 295 Fair Lane in Placerville and 1354 Johnson Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe to permit the same-day filing of documents before 4 p.m. The courtrooms open during the limited operation days will not accept general document filings or payments. Drop boxes must be utilized for general filings and payments.
