Woman missing in Sierra drive found, hospitalized

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a Nevada woman has been found and taken to a hospital after she and a Nevada man disappeared after leaving a Sacramento suburb during bad weather on a drive through the Sierra Nevada.

Citrus Heights police spokesman Officer Bryan Fritsch says 46-year-old Paula Lane was found near Highway 88 in Alpine County around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fritsch says Lane was hospitalized, but had no other details.

Fritsch says Lane and Roderick Clifton appeared to have gotten stuck in snow during their trip. He says Clifton left the car, but did not return.

A body of a man was found nearby but Fritsch did not say if it was that of the 44-year-old Clifton

Clifton and Lane had been the subject of a search after visiting relatives in Citrus Heights - a suburb of Sacramento - and leaving Thursday afternoon to drive back to their home in Gardnerville, Nev.
