May 22, 1935 to November 16, 2012
Don was born in Chicago, Ill., he had one brother.
After he graduated from high school in Chicago, he moved with his family to Arizona. After Arizona he attended college in Montana, graduated and joined the army. After being stationed in many places, he was sent to Heidelberg, Germany, where he met his wife Trudy, she had a little boy and Don adopted him.
In 1970 they left Germany and he was stationed in Fort Ord, Monterey, Ca. There he said good bye to the army life.
He was now a retired Lt. Colonel and went to work for the army reserve in Los Angeles for seven years.
After that nothing could stop him anymore. He always liked nature, mountain climbing, and especially fishing, so in 1978 Don and Trudy moved to South Lake Tahoe where he went to work for the forest service.
He retired from the forest service in 1995 and stayed in Tahoe because now he really had time to go fishing. He also became a member of the Elks.
The last two years he got pretty sick and was in and out of the hospital until he passed-away. He was a great husband and a wonderful father!
He is survived by his wife Trudy, his son Kemp, daughter-in-law Donna and his grand-children Kimberlee and T.J. We will always love him!
