Incline community gathers to help feed the hungry

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - For more than two decades, The Village Church in Incline Village has maintained a very active food ministry for the needy on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Hundreds of families are helped through this program each year with boxes of non-perishable foods which can supply a family of four with food for a week.

At Christmas and Easter, hundreds of additional boxes are prepared and distributed by children, youth, community and church members.

During the week of Dec. 9, volunteers picked up more than seven pallets of food from Raley's, packed more than 400 boxes and distributed food to more than 100 families.

This ministry is made possible through Raley's Food for Families program, donations made at The Village Market and community contributions of time, food and money, as well as significant contributions from The Village Church.

All who participated in this important program are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The Rev. Dr. Richard Randall
