For the last 14 years, Vail Resorts' Specialty Sports Venture has raised funds for local charities over the holidays with its Adopt-A-Cause campaign. Throughout South Lake Tahoe, this year's campaigns benefit Tahoe Magic and Discovery Blind Sports. Since it kicked off on Thanksgiving, local SSV stores have raised more than $1,200, and they will continue to fundraise until Jan. 6. Vail Resorts Echo, the company's sustainability program, will match 50 cents for every dollar donated.
This year's Adopt-A-Cause campaign takes place in more than 165 SSV retail and rental stores from San Francisco to the Rocky Mountains and benefits 20 organizations. SSV employees in each region selected a local charity to partner with and are encouraging customers to support their cause when making purchases at the stores. Last year's Adopt-A-Cause campaign generated $213,253 with the VR Echo match for 17 organizations.
Customers can support Tahoe Magic and Discovery Blind Sports and the SSV Adopt-A-Cause program at the following stores: Kirkwood Mountain Sports, Heavenly Sports, Patagonia, Heavenly Eyes, The North Face, The Boarding House and Quicksilver
