TRUCKEE, Calif. - Join Kindred Art and Folk Institute on Monday, Jan. 21 for a full day session. Drums with Laurie Martin of RhythmU, wax art and making homemade bread are lined up for educational fun.
Rhythm is a universal language that bridges differences of culture, race, and gender. For students of all ages, playing a drum or rhythm instrument in a safe and fun environment gives them a new voice with which they can express themselves and interact with others. Once the circle has come back to silence participants will express their thoughts visually by working with wax to create amazing abstract art. The day will also include a hike and cooking in the afternoon.
The day includes healthy snacks, however, students will need to bring a water bottle for all sessions and a sack lunch for full day sessions.
Pre-registration is required for these sessions so the correct number of instruments and supplies are available.
