Truckee man, 52, arrested twice in two days on charges of domestic violence

TRUCKEE, Calif. - A local man was arrested twice on consecutive days on suspicion of domestic violence after officers said he locked a woman in a room all night, authorities said.

According to a Truckee Police Department press release, officers responded last Friday to a 911 call from a female on Beacon Way. Officers learned the woman had been the victim of domestic violence and had been involved in a physical struggle with the suspect, later identified as Douglas Fleming, 52, of Truckee.

Officers said Fleming prevented the woman from calling for help. While Fleming was not on scene, he later located and was arrested.

Then on Saturday, TPD officers responded to Beacon Way for another domestic violence call. According to police, officers contacted the same woman "who reported she had been locked in a room all night by the suspect and was denied access to a phone to call for assistance."

Officers entered the residence and located Fleming hiding with a 3-year-old child in a closet. Fleming was taken into custody without incident and booked into Nevada County Jail in Truckee. The child was unharmed.
