The North Tahoe boys once again graced the top of the leaderboard in the CNISSF Classic at Auburn Ski Club on Friday, while Sugar Bowl Academy's Katrin Larusson and Truckee's Hannah Halvorsen finished 1-2 in the girls race.
Larusson posted a winning time of 15:45 to Halvorsen's 16:29 over the 5-kilometer course. Bria Riggs of the Sugar Bowl Academy rounded out the varsity girls top three in a time of 17:22, while teammates Camille Hartley and Savannah Blide finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in 17:37 and 17:52.
Skyler Flora was the second Truckee finisher and seventh overall in 18:09. Elise Hardy was eighth in 18:22 and was followed by Lizzie Larkins in 18:25, Danielle Nivinski in 18:32 and Raylene Chew in 18:56.
Patrick McElravey and Peter Holmes led the Laker boys, as they won the varsity race with identical times of 14:01.
Peter Carroll and Sam Zabell of the Sugar Bowl Academy finished third and fourth in 14:46 and 14:48, respectively, while North Tahoe's Shane Christian finished right in the mix in 14:49.
Brandon Deeter led the Truckee boys in sixth place, in 15:09, while North Tahoe's Julien Bordes (15:13) and Incline's Brandon Herhusky (15:14) were seventh and eighth, respectively, and Alex Kopytko (15:21) and Skyler Mullings (15:36) rounded out the top 10.
Ethan Rohlf and Meghan Kelley won the open divisions, while Ryland Belisle and Quinn Lehmkuhl won the middle school races.
McElravey also took the top spot in Sunday's JNQ Classic distance event at Auburn Ski Club, posting a winning time of 27:49 to runner-up Spencer Eudsen's 28:23 and Holmes' 29:02.
Kopytko was fourth in 32:15 and was followed by former Olympic biathlete Glenn Jobe (32:18). Larusson won the women's race in 32:34. She was trailed by Ellie Phillips (35:49), Riggs (37:18), Hartley (37:44) and Katarina Paul (38:02).
