The North Tahoe boys led by Patrick McElravey swept the top three spots at the Tahoe Donner Freestyle on Friday as Katrin Larusson and Hannah Halvorsen again finished 1-2 in the varsity girls division.
Larusson has won all three CNISSF races of the season for her Sugar Bowl Academy (SBA) girls. On Friday she posted a winning time of 15:32.7 over the approximately 5-kilometer course, which sent athletes through the stadium in the middle of the race, allowing spectators to cheer as they passed.
Halvorsen, a Truckee freshman, finished second in 16:01.9, while sophomore teammate Gabrielle Rinne was third in 16:26.8.
Amanda Kirkeby of Mammoth was fourth in 16:36.0 and was followed by SBA's Camille Hartley (16:57.3), Truckee's Kyla Burrill (17:05.4), SBA's Elise Hardy (17:17.1), Truckee's Jenna Rohlf (17:17.8), North Tahoe's Tara Gallant (17:24.1) and SBA's Savannah Blide (17:44.7) rounding out the top 10.
McElravey claimed victory in the varsity boys division for the second straight week, finishing in a time of 13:55.8. He was trailed by North Tahoe teammates Shane Christian (14:01.0) and Dylan Syben (14:32.6) in the top three.
SBA's Sam Zabell finished fourth in 14:34.8 and was trailed by Truckee's Alex Topytko (15:03.7), Incline's Evan Vomund (15:11.7), SBA's Casey Jobe (15:16.0) and Skyler Mullings (15:24.3), and Truckee's Aaron Deeter (15:31.7) and Brandon Deeter (15:42.8).
In the middle school division, Alder Creek's Ryland Belisle won his third consecutive race, posting a time of 9:33 over the 3.5K course. Cody Atwood and J.C. Schoonmaker of North Tahoe rounded out the top three in 10:12 and 10:13.
Alder Creek's Mia Winans captured her second win of the season in the middle school girls race, recording a time of 11:22, while Lindsey Twomey of North Tahoe was runner-up in 11:23. Claire Lang-Ree of Alder Creek was third in 11:24.
