CRYSTAL BAY, Nev. - In another free Locals Showcase music extravaganza at the Crystal Bay Club, Tahoe funk/rock favorite Mama's Cookin' figures to kick off February in style Saturday night.
According to the band's website, Mama's Cookin' singer and guitarist Zebuel Early is an accomplished front man who is charismatic and articulate.
Hailing from the musical center of America's Southern Delta, Early came by his blues guitar work honestly. Songs of true beauty and deep intention, crafted with unique and timely lyrics, leave a lasting impression.

The now-five-member band also features Steven LaBella on bass, Mike Adamo on drums and Todd Holway and Eric Matlock on keys.
Hailing from North Tahoe, Drop Theory's infectious, high-energy music fuses the classic solid gold sounds of past decades with a modern funky twist, according to the band's Facebook page.
With influences that range from hip hop, jazz and of course, funk, Drop Theory has played hundreds of shows around California/Nevada area and is showing no signs of slowing down.
According to the band's bio, since 2008 Drop Theory has played a dynamic mix of carefully selected covers (ranging from afro-beat and 90s acid jazz to straight up funk and soul) and originals.
The band features J Pinard, sax and vocals; Alex Dobbs, drums; Peter Kowalczyk, guitar; Mike Zucker, guitar; and Isaac Freed, bass.
