INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - What do smelly balloons, tornadoes in a tube and craters all have in common? These are just a few of the science experiments Incline Elementary School students explored last month.To generate enthusiasm for the IES Science and Engineering Fair on Feb. 12, the PTA recently funded an all-day science expo in the multipurpose room. Classes rotated through ten stations learning about various topics such as watershed pollution, magnetism, digestion and physics through hands-on activities.The expo was hosted by Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP), with assistance from parent volunteers and Sierra Nevada College students. The all-day expo received rave reviews from both kids and teachers alike and highlighted one of benefits of the new IES Science & Outdoor Education Program.
