The mogul course was hard. Frozen rain mixed with the snow, but the unforgiving conditions didn't stop Heavenly skiers from climbing the podium seven times.
The Heavenly Ski Foundation team hosted its second mogul event last weekend, and once again Taryn Baker came out on top. The freestylers raced in single moguls on Saturday then single and dual moguls Sunday.
Baker's consistent turns led to three wins in three races. Baker turned in the same 3-for-3 performance in her last race.
Ally Sullivan ripped fast turns down the course for two J-4 golds. Karli Anderson tackled moguls bigger than her for two J-5 silvers. Mia Idzorek, battling a back injury, got a J-4 bronze with her tight turns.
Shanti Payne led the men. He netted two seconds and a third with his stylish tricks and huge jumps. Yamato Kashima grabbed a third and fourth with some monster airs. Zach Shearer got two J-3 gold's with smooth turns and inverted jumps. Josh Sullivan displayed new and improved turns and picked up a J-3 bronze. Dean Ambrosi boosted some massive airs. Range Chapman got a J-4 bronze with clean turns and big jumps. Matthew Sullivan powered his way to a J-5 bronze.
