Tyler Curtis' respectable state championship wrestling experience did not vary much from his showing at regionals.
Like at the Northern Division I-A regional tournament the week prior, the standout Truckee wrestler won his first two matches with relative ease in the 182-pound weight class to open the DI-A state championships in Reno this past Friday.
Curtis, a senior, then ran into a road block the following day in the championship match - just as he did at regionals - against Fernley's Erik Wilson.
Wilson, who defeated Curtis 4-0 for the northern region title, won the rematch by a 6-2 decision.
Tyler finished the year 25-4 overall.
