Giving Days | Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate announces Tahoe-Truckee giving programs

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. - Mason McDuffie Truckee: 4th Annual Giving Day

The company wide "Giving Day" was created four years ago by Kathy Ollerton, director of Charities and Training for Better Homes and Gardens Mason McDuffie Real Estate in Truckee to honor the founder and president Ed Krafchow. The company's vision is to have each branch office select a community service project with 100 percent participation of agents and employees through giving of time, talent or treasure. "There is a huge power and energy when people come together," said Ollerton. Twenty-six offices with the Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie network, including their joint ventures with Highland Partners, Wine Country Group and Tri-Valley Realty, will donate time and resources to complete designated projects. The company's March 2 Giving Day will benefit 21 charities in their communities.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason McDuffie-Truckee is happy to announce their annual Giving Day we will partner with High Fives Non-Profit Foundation.

High Fives Foundation, founded by Roy Tuscany, became an official 501c3. nonprofit in January 2010. High Fives has successfully raised funds, secured alternative treatments and aided in the recovery of many athletes. It is the mission of High Fives to continue to grow and become a nation-wide organization that effectively acts as an umbrella for those who participate (and get hurt) in winter actions sports.

Volunteers will work the Squaw Valley Prom Feb. 23, 8 p.m.-2 a.m. as well as The Rahlves Banzai Tour Squaw Valley leg March 2, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and the apres party from 3-6 p.m. at the Chamoix.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate is excited to collaborate with High Fives to help make a lasting difference in the lives of athletes with life-altering injuries.

in Tahoe City will roll into spring with Soles4Souls

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity, is ramping up efforts to help individuals in need and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate is getting on board to help the shoeless. Residents are invited to pitch in by donating gently used shoes - close to 700 million pairs of shoes are thrown away by Americans each year.

By recycling your shoes the discarded footwear will be redistributed through the charity's international and domestic partners, with potentially millions of children and adults could receiving their first pair of shoes.

Please join the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate office for their Giving Day barbecue on Saturday, March 2, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 950 North Lake Blvd., Ste. 12c, in the Safeway Shopping Center in Tahoe City next to the post office. They will be serve hot dogs and baked beans during the SnowFest! parade. Please take your shoes, drop them off and then enjoy the festivities.

Official drop off locations include Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, United States Post Office, A+ Preschool, Coffee Connexion, Tahoe City Safeway, High Altitude Fitness, Crossfit Tahoe Vista, Incline Village Raley's, Fine and Funky, Saint Francis Catholic Church, Grace Church, Pass It On Thrift, Kayak Cafe, Asante Lakeside Fitness, Tahoe Tree Co., Pacific Union, Truckee Airport and Waterman's Landing.
