I just returned from a walk and, as usual, encountered innumerable "land mines." I wonder, why would someone choose one of the most beautiful places on earth to live and not think twice about marring the environment by leaving their dog's poop roadside?
How can an environmentally conscientious population like ours be so blind to this eye- and nose-sore that's unavoidable on many neighborhood and trail walks?
I sincerely thank you dog owners who take your responsibility of pet ownership seriously to the unpleasant end. If more people followed your lead, perhaps the smell of spring, when it comes, would be more fitting for the glory in which we live.
