Village Notes: What's happening in our community?

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - At last we can give February its marching orders - and let's hope we don't see another dry spell like that. SnowFest! kicks off this weekend, and we do have a few events happening in Incline. For a calendar of events, check out today's paper.

Don't forget the evening of Wine and Wisdom from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Tahoe Ridge Winery and Bistro in Minden with Tahoe's Mark Twain. Lots of wit and wisdom and of course wine. For reservations call Howard at 775-901-1100.

The Rotary Club of Incline Village is hosting a special Rotary Music Contest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served. The contest is a competition for high school musicians.

The Incline Star Follies continues to be one of the most popular local events. This year the Follies will be March 22-23 at the Cal Neva. Tickets should be going on sale soon at The Potlatch.

Save the Date for a wine tasting and gourmet dinner with Riedel Crystal stemware on Saturday, April 6. If you want to be on the mailing list for invitations send your information to or call 775-298-0184. This is going to be spectacular!

I think the lack of snow caught everyone by surprise, and I only have one birthday this week for March. If you forgot to send in a birthday, send it in and I will add it to next week's list. Happy Birthday to Mary McCormick on March 4.

For Deals and Steals this week be sure you have signed up for the Something Extra rewards at Raley's. I keep receiving great deals on my weekly shopping trips. It is easy to sign up online at and receive lots of good deals.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news along with the best deals and steals you can find to
