Stevan (Steve) Reichert died Feb. 27, 2013. Born on July 31st, 1949, to the late Dave and Irene Reichert, Steve grew up in Billings, Montana where he attended Billings Senior High School. He joined the Navy after graduation and served in the Vietnam War. On September 13th, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart Boni Stephens. They eventually settled down in Livingston, Montana to raise five children and operate a paint and glass shop. An adventurous mind later brought them to Incline Village.
A man of many thoughts but few words, Steve was affectionately known to his friends as Grizz. He loved to hunt, but often spent more time getting himself lost in the wilderness searching for game. He loved to fish, but would never recast his line. He loved to camp, but spent most of the time setting up and tearing down equipment.
He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and teaching his granddaughter Hailey how to watch TV, cook waffles and not finish household projects. He spent many years mastering crossword puzzles and learning that the High Sierra climate was not conducive to his garden. He was a fix it man by nature with an endless honey-do list.
Steve is survived by his wife, Boni Reichert; sons, Shawn, Shane, Stevan and Jeremy; daughter, Jamie; brothers, David Reichert and Larry Reichert; sisters, Laurie Reichert, Tammy Reichert; and 11 grandchildren.
A celebration of Steve's life will take place Monday, March 11th, from 3-6 pm at 245 Pelton Lane in Incline Village, NV.
