KINGS BEACH, Cali. - The annual Kings Beach SnowFest! Parade is scheduled to take place today, Saturday, March 9, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Highway 28 in Kings Beach between Secline and Chipmunk Streets. The parade will feature approximately 35 entries produced by businesses and nonprofit organizations including children, music, animals, art cars and surprises.Highway 28 will be closed through Kings Beach for the parade from corner of Highway 267 to Chipmunk Street for up to one hour. Motorists may follow posted detour signage and traffic management personnel.The parade will be announced and judged from Tahoe Mountain Sports with additional announcing stands at The Grid Bar & Grill (English and Spanish) and Lake Tahoe Specialty Stove & Fireplace. Award winners will be announced at The Grid Bar & Grill at 1: p.m. Parade Awards will be presented at Caliente's After-Parade Party & SnowFest! Queen Raffle Drawing starting at 1:30 p.m.The Kings Beach SnowFest! Parade is produced by North Tahoe Business Association and sponsored by Rotary Club of Tahoe City, North Tahoe Public Utility District, Dr. Karen Kucharski DMD, Karen's Playskool, Liberty Utilities, North Lake Tahoe Resort Association, Rockwood Tree Service, Sears Hometown Store in Truckee, Sierra Sun newspaper, Taco Bell in Kings Beach, Tahoe Mountain Sports, and Tahoe TV.The North Tahoe Event Center will host the "Dress up your Dog" contest at 10 a.m. before the parade.
