					Douglas Lloyd Champlin of Gardnerville, Nevada, died peacefully on May 20, 2013, in Scottsdale, Arizona, after a brief illness of cancer. He was born January 9, 1941, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Joe Noble and Jane Edwards Champlin. He is survived by his wife Laurel Raether Champlin, daughter Christa Hampton and husband Cobey, of Cave Creek, Arizona, daughter Claire Woolsey and husband Cole, of Reno, Nevada and Cassidy Champlin of the home, six grandchildren, sister Joanna M. 					October 19, 1944 - May 6, 2013 Andrew Warren Barchas, steadfast family member and friend, died peacefully on May 6 at Stanford University Medical Center. He courageously fought acute lymphoblastic leukemia for 15 months, enduring chemotherapy, infections, amputations, and complications from a bone marrow transplant. Yet he never complained nor lost his humor and optimism. Andrew was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 19, 1944, to Florence and David Barchas. Joann married Robert (Bob) Partridge in 1948. They were married for 51 years before Bob’s passing in 1999. They lived in the Tahoe City area for 15 years. Robert graduated from San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, CA. He attended UCSD. Lived in Encintas, CA, enjoying the surf prior to moving to Tahoe City in the late 1970s. Corky was an original employees of Bruce Olson Construction where he ran their Cabinet Shop until his transplant. Born to Navy parents in 1923, his family lived in Guam, eastern US and England, before settling in Marin Co. Ted arrived in the Sierras during college years before entering WWII in the 10th Mountain Division ski troops. After the war he returned to Donner Summit ski areas where he met his wife, Peggy, in the big winter of 1952. Together they built a home and raised 2 daughters in Tahoe City. Robert Thomas Meyer. After graduation, she worked as a veterinarian’s assistant in southern California. She and Robert were married on June 10, 1951, and had four children. 					On the evening of April 7, 2013, Larry Schnabel, peacefully and quietly, went into the arms of his loving Father. Larry was born in Harlan, Iowa, on October 2, 1937 and grew up in Southern California. He attended St. John’s Academy and College in Winfield, Kansas, where, at the age of 14, he met, Ruthie, his wife of 55 years. They spent the first 15 years of their marriage in Orange County where Larry worked in administration in the insurance industry. Born in Oakland, Joey moved to Truckee at age five with his mother Chris and attended Truckee Elementary, Sierra Mountain Middle School and Truckee High School. He graduated from Truckee High in June of 2005 where he was an honor student and a treasured member of the varsity baseball and football teams. 					Dina Schneider passed away on February 26 at the age of 94 at Lakeside Manor in Reno where she had been living since 2008. Prior to living in Reno, she was a resident for many years in Incline Village, where she was known and loved by many friends as well as customers, fellow-volunteers, and employees at the Presbyterian Women’s Thrift Shop, where she is still fondly remembered for her warmth, wit, and eagle eye at her position at the check-out desk. 					Chad Robert Smith Sr., 50, lost his battle to cancer on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Chad was born in Inglewood, Calif. on June 3, 1962 to Gary Robert Smith and Gabrielle Paya Beim Smith. Chad grew up in Vista, California where he played football at Vista High School. He graduated from Vista High School in 1980, and from Feather River College in 1982 with a degree in Forestry. 					William Richard Eadington, professor of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno and internationally recognized as the foremost authority on the legalization and regulation of commercial gambling, passed away peacefully at his home in Crystal Bay, Nev., on Feb. 11, 2013 at the age of 67 following an 18-month battle with cancer. Born on Jan. 1, 1946 to the late Elizabeth and Thomas Eadington, William (Bill) grew up in the town of Brea in Orange County, California. He passed peacefully in his sleep in his own home with his wife and dogs, just the way he wanted to go. Born June 1st 1943, in Tulare, Calif., Sid was the second of three children to parents Milton and Helen Willeford. Raised in Fresno, Calif., he played football and ran track at Fresno High, studied Mathematics at Fresno State University, and served six years in the National Guard. In 1966, Sid moved to Tahoe to go skiing.
