Illusion Fusion, a high-energy theatrical production starring award-winning master magician Alex Ramon, will close its show in the Golden Cabaret at the Horizon Casino Resort on March 31 after a two-year run, according to an announcement from show organizers.
The show started as a two-month limited engagement, but turned into a permanent attraction.
“This has been Lake Tahoe’s only full-time production show that’s suitable for everybody in the market, and we’d found a niche that fits nicely with the demographics that are here in the basin year-round,” said Paul Reder, president of PR Entertainment, one of the producers of Illusion Fusion, in the announcement.
Illusion Fusion features world-class illusions, slight-of-hand close-up, never-before-seen magic and comedy.
The Los Angeles Times has called his show “a razzle-dazzle exhibition of sleight-of-hand... and other mind-bending magic acts”, and the Courier Post says, “He pulls off some illusions... that can only be described as Grand,” according to the announcement.
The show will continue to run every night but Wednesday at 8 p.m. before the final show March 31.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with such positive responses from our customers who have enjoyed Illusion Fusion at the Horizon. It’s been a great addition to our property, and we’ve been proud to host the show over these past few years,” said Corinna Osborne, the general manager of Horizon Casino Resort in the statement. The show is closing following the announcement the casino will close to undergo renovations.
“We have had a terrific talent in Alex Ramon, who has toured the world with Disney and Ringling Brothers at such a young age, then came to Tahoe with all this amazing experience and training to put on a simply perfect show,” Reder said.
Tickets to the final shows are $24.95 and are available online at www.ticketfly.com or by calling Horizon at 775-588-6211.
