Finding locally sourced, fresh produce at Lake Tahoe isn’t always easy in winter.
But, come spring and summer, farmers markets sprout up around the region, providing stacks of fresh produce from regional growers, local crafts and even live music.
Several Lake Tahoe area farmers markets started up this month, with several more set to open in coming weeks.
Here’s a look at some of the area’s offerings when it comes to farm-direct food:
