Opinion: Tribune readies for move to renovated space

Caitlin Row
Tribune Managing Editor

Greetings, readers.

Here at the Tribune headquarters, change is afoot. Boxes are arriving, we’re clearing out old files and cleaning up in preparation for a move. No, we’re not leaving the building. We’ll still be located at 3079 Harrison Ave. We are, however, moving to a renovated (and sunny) space toward the back of our structure, and the transfer will be done by Jan. 1. We will have a new entrance at the side of the building once the move is complete.

Tahoe Mountain Lab, the new owners of the building, will then begin renovating the front area to make shared co-working space for small businesses — it will be ready to rent come spring.

Please look for an announcement regarding our moving celebration closer to the new year.

In other news … have you been reading our news online? The Tribune’s website — http://www.tahoedailytribune.com, along with Twitter, Instagram and Facebook — is updated daily and chock full of local and regional news, some of which you won’t see in print due to space constraints. Check our website and social media accounts for regular weather updates and predictions, expanded photo selections, lake-wide ski announcements, breaking news and more.

In preparation for Thanksgiving, I also ask for our readers to write to us, telling us what they’re thankful for this holiday season. We welcome letters to the editor. Submit one by emailing crow@tahoedailytribune.com. Holiday-flavored story tips are welcome, too. Send them my way or to my news team. We aim to feature local do-gooders, Santa’s helpers and simple kindness.

Tahoe Magazine, a lake-wide publication put out in partnership with our North Shore sister papers, will be out on the stands Thanksgiving Thursday, Nov. 26. Expect to see feature stories about favorite Tahoe athletes, plus dining, entertainment, resorts and recreation.
