4 Seasons Soup & Salad Cafe on Lake Tahoe Boulevard celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting Thursday with the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Shannon Witt, a 13-year South Lake Tahoe resident, opened the restaurant on Feb. 8. Witt aims to serve home-cooked, fresh, healthy, preservative-free food to both locals and tourist alike. The restaurant focuses on community-supported agriculture from both the California and Nevada sides of South Lake Tahoe. All bread is supplied by Sugar Pine Bakery.

The focus is also on seasonal food so customers receive in-season produce. Menus change with the seasons; the next menu change is June 21.

The restaurant serves five homemade soups per day as well as gourmet salads and specialty sandwiches. It also offers a full coffee bar and specialty drinks.

This summer, the restaurant will offer breakfast at 8 a.m. with quiches, frittatas and baked goods.

Current hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Beginning July 1, hours will expand to 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Wednesday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday to Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

4 Seasons Soup & Salad Cafe is at 3434 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Call (530) 541-4787.
