Coyote crossing leads to rollover crash

A coyote crossing Upper Lake Parkway was blamed for a single-vehicle crash about 5:20 a.m. Thursday, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

A 25-year-old Zephyr Cove woman was driving east on the road behind MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa when she swerved to avoid a coyote, according to a deputy’s report.

The maneuver caused the Mazda sedan the woman was driving to veer off the road and roll, according to the report. The woman suffered minor scrapes to her hand. The vehicle suffered moderate damage to the left and front side, according to the report.
