Three suspected in South Lake Tahoe robbery

South Lake Tahoe police are looking for three people suspected of an armed robbery at Pinewood Lodge Saturday night.

About 11:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the hotel, located at 3818 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, according to a statement from the city.

A woman reportedly knocked at the locked front lobby door of the hotel and told a clerk she needed a room.

“The clerk opened the door and two unidentified males wearing ski masks and gloves entered the office,” according to the statement. “One male was armed with a black handgun and pushed the clerk behind the counter. The second male was armed with a large hunting knife and he placed it near the clerk’s neck. The female demanded money as the male armed with the handgun opened the cash drawer and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.”

Police believe the suspects left in a brown four-door Cadillac and drove eastbound toward the casino corridor.

The woman was described as being black, about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a small build. She was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black gloves.

The two men were described as being black, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with medium builds. Each was wearing dark clothing, a black mask and black gloves. The knife used in the robbery had a black blade.

Police ask anyone with information relating to the incident to call 530-542-6100.
