El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 47-year-old South Lake Tahoe man early Thursday morning after allegedly finding about two ounces of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
Eric James Brown was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy after failing to use a turn signal near the intersection of Ponderosa Street and Lodi Avenue about 12:15 a.m. Thursday, said Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Pete Van Arnum.
During the stop the deputy noticed Brown acting suspiciously and saw two bags of suspected methamphetamine on the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle, according to the spokesman. Brown was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance.
He was booked into custody at El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe, where he remained Friday afternoon, according to sheriff’s records. It is unknown if Brown has an attorney. His bail amount has been set at $250,000, Van Arnum said.
