Fine art festivals take both shores

Art in a multitude of mediums will be available at both shores in coming days as West Coast Artists is set to hold a pair of fine art festivals at Lake Tahoe.

The Kings Beach Fine Art Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at North Lake Boulevard and Coon Street.

The Heavenly Village Fine Art Festival will take place in South Lake Tahoe from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Aug. 10-11 at 4080 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The festivals “will feature artists presenting their original work in all mediums of two and three dimensional fine art, including paintings in acrylic, oils and watercolors, photography, etchings, sculpture in clay, glass, metal, stone and wood. Each artist will be present to meet with the public and discuss their work,” according to a press release from West Coast Artists.

Organizers say festival attendees will also find blown glass, turned wood, semi-precious jewelry, pottery, stained glass and an array of high-quality crafts at the festivals.

“West Coast Artists’ shows are truly unique fusion of art, culture, and living,” according to the release. “They are like visiting numerous galleries at the same place and time, in a beautiful outdoor setting. Our goal is to bring to appreciative new audiences a wealth of ever-changing art from accomplished artists and craftsmen.”

Admission to the festivals is free. All work at the festivals is available for purchase.
