Award-winning chef to cook for Parasol fundraiser

Award-winning chef Nancy Oakes will appear as the celebrity chef for the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s Community Table event, which serves as a fundraiser for the organization.

In 1993, Oakes opened a restaurant called Boulevard on San Francisco’s Embarcadero waterfront. Today, she is one of the most recognized and celebrated chefs in America and in 2012 Boulevard received the celebrated James Beard Foundation Outstanding Restaurant Award, according to a press release.

Oakes, along with her Boulevard staff, will be at the Shakespeare Ranch in Glenbrook, Nev., on Sept. 6 to prepare an exclusive dinner for the Community Table event. One of the items to be auctioned during the evening is a private dinner at the wine country home of Oakes and her husband, Bruce Aidells. All proceeds from the dinner and auction will benefit Parasol.
