8th-grade achievers receive recognition

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe presented 2006-2007 Eighth Grade Achievement Awards to 16 students during a recent meeting of the service club at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

The awards are based not only on scholastic excellence, but on community involvement as well.

In addition to recognition for a job well done, each student received a certificate.



JoAnn Hernandez, counselor at South Tahoe Middle School, presented the awards to Alex Herrera and Zaida Landeros; Kingsbury Middle School principal Dan Wold and counselor Ann Schilling presented the awards to Karin Sharon and Matt Schorr; and St. Theresa School principal Danette Winslow made the presentations to Alex Eidam and D.J. DuPuy.
