On the Hill, brought to you by the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, brings you a video report showcasing Tahoe's ski conditions every day.
Breakdown: Join Tahoe 'On the Hill' reporter Matt Hardy for a cruise down Gold Coast on this gorgeous bluebird day in Lake Tahoe.
Squaw Valley official report: 4" overnight, 4" in last week.
Tahoe Daily Tribune field report: Beautiful day. Crisp air, groomed runs, and new snow are making for a great surface.
Liftline status: The Funitel and Gold Coast weren't crowded at 10:15, and not likely to change until the weekend. Keep in mind Squaw is operating 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Run of the day: Gold Coast was groomed with new snow.
Weather: Sunny and cold today, with temps the low 20s.
Snowcast: The best snow of this young winter season is heading for Tahoe this weekend. The prospects for the next Sierra storm keep getting better. We are now looking at a very good chance of between 12 and 18 inches of snow at the highest elevations of the Sierra Friday night through Saturday. Some spots along the Sierra Crest could see up to 24 inches. The snow should start late Friday night and peak early Saturday morning. Highs Saturday will be in the high teens or low 20s around the Lake with lows in the single digits through the weekend.
