On the Hill: Amazing 22-inch powder day at Sugar Bowl

On the Hill, brought to you by the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, brings you a video report showcasing Tahoe's ski conditions every day.

Breakdown: 22-plus-inch powder day at Sugar Bowl Resort. Join Tahoe 'On the Hill' reporter Matt Hardy for an amazing powder day down Rahlves Run on opening day at Sugar Bowl Resort

Sugar Bowl official report: 22 inches overnight, 6 inches in last week

Field report: Storm day. Crisp air, snow falling, and over 2 feet of new snow

Weather: Cold and snowy, with temps the low 20s

Liftline status: The Lincoln Express and Gondola weren't crowded at 9 a.m. People are slowly filtering in.

Run of the day: Rahlves' Run was full of packed powder snow.

Snowcast: We should see snow showers most of the day around the basin. Heaviest showers should be along the crest. An additional 3-6 could fall depending on where the snow showers fall today. It stays cold through Monday with highs only in the 20s. We start to moderate into the 30s and 40s towards midweek. Looks like another storm may be moving in to the area in about a week. Stay tuned.
