On the Hill: Northstar's Backside open and groomed

On the Hill, brought to you by the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, brings you a video report showcasing Tahoe's ski conditions every day.

Breakdown: Join Tahoe 'On the Hill' reporter Matt Hardy for a run down the newly opened and groomed backside at Northstar. Nine lifts spinning, 24 trails open (14 groomed), three terrain parks with 36 features.

Northstar official report: 0" overnight, 28" in the last week.

Field report: Bluebird with fast groomers and a lot of new terrain openings.

Weather: Cold and sunny, with temps warming into the mid 30s.

Liftline status: The Gondola, Arrow Express, Comstock Express and the Backside Express weren’t crowded at 10 a.m. It looks like lines will remain short the rest of the day.

Run of the day: Burnout was groomed with a crusty surface.

Snowcast: There is nothing currently in the forecast for the next two weeks. Temperatures will slowly warm this week. A high of 38 degrees today.
