On the Hill: New Year's Eve from the summit of Alpine

On the Hill, brought to you by the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, brings you a video report showcasing Tahoe's ski conditions every day.

Breakdown: Join Tahoe 'On the Hill' reporter Matt Hardy for the last run of 2013 down Alpine Bowl>Rock Garden>Loop Road>Weasel Run at Alpine Meadows. 6 lifts spinning, 26 trails open (14 groomed).

Alpine Meadows official report: 0" overnight, 0" in last week

Field report: Freshly groomed runs are making for a good surface. It is icy in some spots — be careful.

Weather: Sunny with temperatures warming in to the 50s.

Liftline status: Summit chair had a three-minute line at 9 a.m.

Snowcast: Look for a small storm to form around the 7th of January. Warm and sunny weather until then.

Events at Squaw: Torchlight Parade at 6:30 p.m. tonight with fireworks at 7 p.m.
