Apology ends domestic spat
May 9, 2003
A night of drinking turned into mayhem when a man began hurling rocks at friends’ cars after he became enraged by having been slapped, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy said.
The 33-year-old Pleasanton man bit a friend’s finger during a playful wrestling match May 2 inside his parent’s vacation house on the 500 block of Highway 50, the deputy said. The owner of the finger, a 26-year-old Rio Linda woman, slapped the man, who became enraged, the deputy said.
The women fled the house and got into cars. The man began kicking the car his wife was in and blocked the other cars, the deputy said. One of the women drove around the man but hit a tree which made her air bags deploy, the deputy said.
Authorities arrived at the residence and peered into the dark house with flashlights. The man was found hiding inside and refused to come out, the deputy said. When he eventually came out, he came at a deputy in a threatening manner and was hit with one tazer bullet, the deputy said.
The situation was later resolved when the man’s wife came out. She said she wasn’t abused or held against her will. The man apologized and said he would pay for the vehicle damage.
