Authorities investigating sheriff’s vehicle vandalism

South Lake Tahoe police and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the vandalism of four sheriff’s vehicles in the office’s parking lot on Johnson Lane Tuesday night.

The vandal or vandals wrote anti-law enforcement profanities and possibly gang-related monikers on the vehicles in red spray paint between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Lt. Pete Van Arnum stated in an email.

The incident caused more than $500 in damage, Van Arnum said.
