Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary gives scholarships

Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary honored its scholarship recipients June 9 during a luncheon at the Lake Tahoe Country Club. Four local graduates were given $1,500 scholarships.

The applicants were evaluated on academics, school-community activities and medical career choices. The winners are Brittney Cummings, South Tahoe High School, who will be going to San Diego State University; Brittney Makara, Whittell High School, who will attend San Francisco State; Alicia Dreyer, Douglas High School, who will go to the University of Nevada, Reno; and Morgan Cassidy, Lake Tahoe Community College, who plans to attend Humboldt State.
