‘Batman’ on tap at LTCC theater
May 7, 2003
Get in the Act Performing Arts students will present a children’s theater performance of “Batman” May 10 and 11, when 12 students between the ages of 8 to 12 will perform an adaptation of the 1966 Batman TV series. The presentation will begin at 4 p.m. in the Lake Tahoe Community College theater, which will be transformed into an action movie “live on-stage.”
Admission is $8 for all ages and tickets may be purchased at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade, and Tahoe Valley Pharmacy, 2074 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The play begins on a peaceful afternoon, when Batman and Robin are summoned to the Batcave by an urgent call for help. A revolutionary, scientific invention is heading to Gotham City and has simply disappeared. Can the Cape Crusaders use their Batcopter, Batmobile and other groovy gadgets to stop the villains from using the invention for their own monstrous scheme? Will the Dynamic Duo be completely foiled by Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Joker and the Archer?
