Blue Ribbon Choir seeks donations
May 2, 2003
The Blue Ribbon Classical Choir will participate in the Music in the Parks competition May 10 at Vallejo, Calif. The awards ceremony will take place following the competition at Six Flags Marine World Park. This is the group’s first competition as a show choir.
The Blue Ribbon Classical Choir consists of 10 female members at South Tahoe High School and Visions Charter School. These girls perform yearly at Caesars Holiday Extravaganza as well as several other community venues throughout the year.
Expenses for such a trip can be costly. The two directors, Paul Kushner and Bill Days, as well as the manager and two chaperones will also attend the event. It is hoped to raise approximately $1,500 through donations and fund-raising to cover the cost of the trip. Donations will be used for gas, food, lodging, competition fees, entrance into the park and uniforms. Any donations, no matter the amount, would be greatly appreciated. Checks may be made payable to the Traveling Chorus/Blue Ribbon Choir and mailed to Julie Zeid, manager, Blue Ribbon Classical Choir, 1464 Rancho Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
