The South Tahoe Vikings Booster Club recognized Heather Dominguez, Ross Kovac, Chad Kaassamani, Grace Bronken and Francesca Franco for their achievements on the athletic field this fall.

Dominquez was recognized for her incredible leadership on the cheer team throughout the season.

Kovac was recognized for his achievements on the boys cross-country team. He was a consistent performer who gave his all this season and rounded out a three-time regional championship team.

Kaassamani was recognized for his achievements on the boys tennis team. Kaassamani was No. 1 in singles this fall and helped lead his team to second place at regionals. He captured third in the individual regional competition. He was also a big contributor to the boys’ state qualification, where he qualified for individual competition, and helped the team earn All-Academic honors. The boosters particularly noticed Kaassamani’s hard work at practice and matches, and constant team encouragement.

Bronken was recognized for her achievements on the girls tennis team. She was part of the No. 2 doubles team and showed strong leadership skills on the court with her positive and competitive attitude. She always helped the coach with extras.

Together, with doubles partner Sarah Jobbins, the girls helped South Tahoe win regional championships and state semifinals. In the classroom, Bronken’s grades contributed to the All-Academic title the girls won. Her doubles team was individual runner up in regional competition and qualified for individual state competition.

Francesca Franco (not pictured) was recognized for her achievements on the girls golf team.

Francesca made a dramatic improvement from last season. She began last season with a score of 181 in her first tournament and averaged over 150 shots for the season.

This year, however, she dropped her season average to 122, never scoring higher than 137.
