Sidestreet Boutique was opened in 1972 in the Lake Tahoe Bijou Shopping center by mother-daughter team Cecelia Meagher and Barbara Parina. Cissy, who passed in 1998, was a true-blood New Yorker and her daughter grew up in Beverly Hills and Malibu. Barbara moved to Tahoe after UCLA, met her husband and raised her family in town. Cissy came to Tahoe to be with her daughter and they decided to open the store after they felt there was a need to bring Hollywood fashion to Tahoe.

Cissy was one of the top ten cover-girls in the world in the 1940’s and was surrounded by high fashion. Barbara grew up in Hollywood and has an extraordinary eye for fashion and style and what people will wear and buy. Sidestreet Boutique is now the longest successful clothing retail boutique in town. Going from a 300-square-foot store in Bijou to the mega 12,000 square foot boutique today, coupled with stellar online sales on sidestreetboutque.com, it is clear that Sidestreet Boutique has what it takes to be a fashion powerhouse.
