California Tahoe Conservancy to host Doggy Day festivities
Ryan Summerlin August 30, 2013
Doggie Day festivities will be held Sept. 3 at Cove East Beach.
“Doggie Day celebrates everyone who respectfully shares the marsh: families, dogs, and the sensitive species who inhabit the area,” Conservancy Land Steward Sarah Werick stated in a press release. “Our primary obligation is to protect the marsh’s wildlife habitat and water quality values, but we also encourage recreational activity including leashed dogs enjoying Cove East.”
Games, educational points and dog competitions will be part of the event. Pet owners will learn about the Conservancy’s public lands and be given an opportunity to hone their pet etiquette skills.
The event, which is free, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Trail access to Cove East beach begins at the end of the end of Venice Drive near the Tahoe Keys Marina.
