Camp Tadaka offers summer fun for youth

The city of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor Camp Tadaka for youths in first through eighth grades from 7:30 a.m. to 6 :30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting June 22. The camp will be closed July 4. Cost varies depending on the day’s trip.

Camp Tadaka features games, arts and crafts, movies, orientation to the summer program and swimming in the pool. Take a look at the summer calendar and sign up for some or all of the days. Fun Trip Days include Wild Island, Sand Harbor Shakespeare Play, Nevada State Fair, Incline Environmental Center, Science & Space Discovery Museum, Donner Museum, West End Beach and Truckee River Rafting.

New this year will be theme weeks: Fear Factor, Soccer, Hockey and Ice Skating, Environmental, Drama and Dance, Science , All about Tahoe, Survival, 4H and Aquatic weeks.
