Chabad Jewish Center of Lake Tahoe will launch a new Torah Studies course in October.
This adult education offering is designed for people at all levels of Jewish knowledge.
“This course is truly novel in the way it probes the depths of classic Jewish thought to address the issues we face in contemporary Jewish life,” Rabbi Mordechai Richler, the course instructor, stated in a press release. “I am looking forward to the great discussions that these texts no doubt will generate. The dialogue among participants is often my favorite part of the class.”
Some of the topics to be addressed are the Jewish perspective on realizing your true potential, human struggle, and the power of a single action. The season will also include a Chanukah holiday class.
“Whether you consider yourself a Reform, Conservative, Orthodox or an unaffiliated Jew this class will bring meaning and insight which will enhance your holidays no matter where you attend services” Richler stated. “We are so sure that people will enjoy it that we invite anyone interested to attend the first lesson free, with no obligation.”
The fee for the course is $55, which includes the course textbook. The 12-week course will take place Wednesdays from 7:15-8:15 p.m., beginning Oct. 2. They will be held at 1898 Venice Dr. in South Lake Tahoe. To enroll, call Chabad Jewish center at 530-539-4188 or visit JewishTahoe.com.
