CHP collecting toys, food and jackets for kids

The California Highway Patrol is kicking off its Chips for Kids program Nov. 23 and will be collecting food, new unwrapped toys, new or lightly used jackets and food.

The collected items are typically donated to St. Theresa Catholic Church, Lake Tahoe Women’s Center and Christmas Cheer.

We are also looking for local businesses to participate as drop off locations.

For questions or to be a drop-off location, call Officer Jeff Gartner at (530) 577-1001.
