Community workshops set on regional plan
October 14, 2008
Two community workshops have been scheduled this month to bring the public up to speed on the emerging update to the Lake Tahoe regional plan.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency-sponsored workshops, fashioned after Place-Based Planning visioning sessions in 2006 and 2007, are an opportunity for residents to see how their input has been incorporated into the update, which will be the master planning document for the Tahoe Basin over the next 20 years.
The final document, scheduled for adoption next year, will serve as a blueprint for accelerating the attainment of environmental thresholds in the basin while also addressing how to revitalize communities without compromising their unique character.
Participants will be given the latest details about the plan update and alternatives to be considered as part of an environmental review that will culminate in final consideration next year.
